Taking our Community Conversations to Ceredigion
In January we held a successful Community Conversation at Gwar Y Garth, Penrhyncoch, near Aberystwyth, where operational and development staff visited residents in their new homes, a year after they moved in.
We were keen to check everything in their homes was working as it should and find out what was working well for residents. We were also able to help with any questions they had about their properties, the cost of living, and the wider community.
We parked our WWH van on the site, which we used as a base for residents to come and see us. Our Community Development Officer for West Wales also organised colouring activities for younger residents.
While we were on site for two days, we heard lots of positive comments.
Residents told us they felt there was great community spirit on the estate and excellent transport links. Some suggested improvements to create a footpath leading from the site to nearby facilities, which we will take up with the local authority responsible for highways in the area. Others asked for some of the green areas to be reseeded with wildflowers, which we arranged with our contractor.
All the feedback we gathered during our conversations is being reviewed to understand common themes and look at what improvements we can make to our services and our homes. We will then feedback to the residents of Gwar Y Garth.
Thank you to everyone who took their time to chat with us during the visit, your views are important to us.
