Time for Penarth gardeners to ask questions
The communal gardens was one of the many topics of conversation, when our team visited residents at Oak Court retirement scheme in Penarth.
As part of our Community Conversations campaign, staff spent an afternoon in April at the Vale of Glamorgan scheme listening to the views of the residents who live there.
What we heard
We chatted with residents in their apartments and they shared their experiences and ideas about their homes and community.
We spent time in the garden with some of the residents who have worked hard for many years to create a beautiful space for all to enjoy. They shared their ideas for the outdoor area with us.
The visit was a chance for all residents to ask questions and voice any concerns so we can learn what works well and look at how residents can help shape local services.
“I appreciate that staff took the time to come and talk to the residents. It feels like we’re being listened to.”

What next?
We’ll be reviewing all the conversations, so we can identify themes and look at areas where we can make improvements to our services. We will then feed back to the residents.
