Spring clean in Merthyr Tydfil
Residents in Twyncarmel joined in a spring clean when we worked with our partners at Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (MTCBC) to organise a community recycling day.
Residents, in one area of the scheme, were invited to bring out their unwanted items, which were separated based on what could be recycled.
Items such as fridges, freezers, toasters, microwaves, toys, old BBQs and furniture were taken away for recycling by staff from MTCBC. For other non-recyclable items, such as household waste, there was a skip.
Community volunteers from Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association also joined in a community litter pick.
Thanks to everyone who took part! We’ll be organising similar events on other areas of the scheme in future.
Happy birthday Plas Yr Ywen
Residents at Plas Yr Ywen extra care scheme in Holywell joined a party to celebrate the scheme’s fifth birthday.
More than 60 residents, who have made their homes at Plas Yr Ywen, came together for an afternoon party. They were joined by family members, WWH staff, staff from Flintshire County Council and Town Councillor Daniel Thomas.
They enjoyed a buffet laid on by catering staff and joined in with the live music. There were lots of balloons and plenty of photos to record the occasion.
