Your 60th anniversary parties

Residents across Wales have been joining in our 60th anniversary celebrations with community parties in their schemes.

We’ve had dozens of applications from groups keen to take up our offer of grants to help bring people together to celebrate.

In Newlands Court, Cardiff, neighbours, Sue and Edith, organised a fun party for all. And for those who were unable to attend, they had plates of party food delivered to their homes. “A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you for making it possible,” says Sue.

The residents of St Clements Court, Cardiff, raised a toast at their party in April. They all enjoyed home-cooked food made by Janet, with help from her daughter and neighbour Dawn. Another resident, Christine, applied for the party grant for the scheme. She said: “It was a well-attended, enjoyable afternoon. Thanks to everyone involved.”

At Fferm Y Bryn in Ystrad Mynach, residents got together and enjoyed a party spread of sandwiches, savouries, fresh fruit and mini Victoria sponges.

In Flint, the residents of Centenary Square got together on one of the hottest days of the year, for their party.
