Wales & West Housing has entered into an innovative partnership with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS).
WWH, one of the largest housing associations in Wales with properties in 13 local authority areas, has agreed to act as an ‘exemplar’ partner for SWFRS to help promote good practice within fire safety in the social housing sector.
The move is a development of WWH working in partnership with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service to improve fire safety measures throughout their property portfolio.
WWH Health and Safety Officer Anthony Williams (pictured second from right) said “WWH is committed to safeguard the welfare of all our residents, staff and premises through agreed fire risk assessment protocols. This partnership presents the opportunity to work towards a consistent approach on all fire safety issues.”

Group Manager Andy Petersen from SWFRS said “WWH has demonstrated the importance that they place on fire safety. Our partnership with them will provide a positive attitude to enabling compliance with all fire safety legislation.”
Anne Hinchey, Chief Executive of WWH, said: “We take health and safety very seriously at Wales & West Housing and our Health and Safety team are taking an innovative approach to both fire safety good practice, and, how we communicate with our residents regarding fire safety messages.
“We are very pleased to have been invited to work with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service to help them to promote good practice within the sector across Wales.”
